How to get to Frankfurt

Frankfurt airport is the third busiest in Europe. There are flights here from all major destinations. The airport has its own station where you can catch the S-Bahn into town (S8 or S9). This will take 11 minutes and cost 11.90 euros.

Warning: you would think that travelling to Frankfurt Hahn airport, which is used by many budget airlines, would also be a great way to arrive here. You need to be aware that this airport is 124 kilometres away and the bus journey to Frankfurt will take nearly two hours.

As you would expect of Germany’s financial capital Frankfurt has superb train links to the rest of Germany and Europe. You can use Eurostar to get here from London – with a change at Brussels – in just over five hours.

Two low-cost bus companies – Eurolines (www.eurolines.de) and Flixbus (www.flixbus.com) transport passengers to the city centre from several European cities.
