Starting from Hamburg

 Hamburg harbour

Easy to get to and with a flourishing football culture, Hamburg is the perfect base for a visit to the north of Germany.

As you would expect of Germany’s largest port, it is a relatively wealthy city with plenty to see and do as well as watch football.

Many visitors will have heard of the “Reeperbahn’. Once a notorious red-light district, this part of town is now famous for its clubs, music, theatres and bars. You will also want to visit the harbour area, maybe take a boat trip around the Alster Lake or spend some time in Hamburg’s famous fish market.

And, of course, there are two famous football clubs: Hamburger SV and FC St Pauli.
