SV 1916 Sandhausen

Sandhausen was formed in 1916 and for most its entire history has played in lower tiers of German football.  The club’s greatest achievement was to gain promotion into the 2 Bundesliga, where the club still finds itself.

They play in the Hardtwaldstadion, which has recently been modernised and expanded.  It now has a capacity of 15414.  Average attendance in 2014/15 was just under 6000.

The simplest way to get there is to travel to Heidelberg and take the light train (S3 or S4) to Sandhausen station.  On match days shuttle buses take fans to and from the ground.  If you prefer to go on foot, it’s a 30 minute walk

Tickets range from 11.00 euros (uncovered standing) to 35 euros (seats in the main stand).  You can buy a ticket at the ground on the day or buy them online
